This page gathers, in one place, the disclaimers that apply whenever you use the GrandPlan app or this website. It's a plain-English companion to our Terms of service — especially the Disclaimers and Limitation of liability sections, which contain the full legal language. If anything on this page differs from the terms, the terms control.
Information, not advice
GrandPlan is an information tool: it helps you find kid-friendly places and gives you context — hours, photos, drive times, weather — to plan a visit. Nothing in the app or on this website is professional advice of any kind: not safety advice, not medical, legal, or financial advice, and not childcare guidance. For an emergency, call 911.
We don't run the places we show you
We don't inspect, own, operate, staff, or endorse any place in GrandPlan. They are independent businesses and public spaces we have no relationship with and no control over. Listing a place means it fit our screening checklist — it is not a recommendation that the place is safe, supervised, accessible, clean, or open, and it is not an endorsement of the business.
"Kid-friendly" is a judgment, not a guarantee. It means a place fits our checklist for the age band you chose. It does not mean the place is safe for your particular child on your particular day.
Information can be wrong or out of date
Place names, addresses, hours, ratings, and photos come from Google Maps and Google Places. Weather comes from the National Weather Service. We pass this information along in good faith, but it isn't ours, we can't verify all of it, and we make no promise that it's accurate, complete, or current.
Information also goes stale. Hours change, businesses close, equipment breaks, policies change. We refresh place data on a schedule, so what you see may be weeks or months old. Ratings and reviews are other people's opinions, passed through from Google — they aren't ours and we don't verify them.
AI does the screening — and AI can be wrong
Every place in GrandPlan is screened by a safety-trained AI curation agent against a consistent kid-safety checklist, with sources recorded. That consistency is its strength — but it is automated, it is not a person visiting the place, and it can be wrong.
The same goes for the GrandPlan Guide, our AI chat feature. It can misremember hours, suggest a place that has closed, or state something confidently that isn't true. Treat its answers as suggestions to check, not facts to rely on.
Estimates are estimates
Drive times and distances don't account for traffic at the moment, closures, or how you actually drive. Weather is a forecast, not a promise about conditions when you arrive.
Check before you go — the decision is yours
Before you take a child anywhere: call ahead, look at the venue's own website, and use your eyes when you arrive. If something looks wrong for the kids you have with you, don't do it — no matter what the app says. Your visit to any place you find through GrandPlan is between you and that place; the decision to go, and the supervision of the children with you, are yours.
Links to other sites and services
GrandPlan links out — to venues' own websites, to maps and directions, and to the App Store and Google Play. Those sites and services aren't ours: we're not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices, and linking to them isn't an endorsement.
No warranties
GrandPlan is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. The Disclaimers and Limitation of liability sections of the terms set out the full scope of what we disclaim and the limits on what we're responsible for. Some states don't allow certain exclusions or limits, so parts may not apply to you — nothing in these statements takes away rights your state's consumer protection law gives you.
Tell us when we're wrong
We correct errors as fast as we can, and reports genuinely work: every place in the app has a one-tap "Report a problem" button, and enough independent reports pull a place out of results while we look. You can also write to support@grandplanapp.com. It's the fastest way we learn a place has changed.
